Australian Sea Lions are commonly found on beaches throughout the Southwest. They are occasionally hunted for their pelts and oil. Intelligent and curious, they are generally peaceful creatures - fleeing into the ocean if approached - although males can be aggressive if harassed, particularly in the breeding season.
