The Gore Horse is perhaps one of the more startling mutations to emerge from the Great War. A dangerous predator, it should be avoided at all costs.

From a distance a gore horse appears to be a normal horse, usually white or grey in colour. On closer approach however a number of differences quickly become apparent. The muzzle is usually caked with blood and gore (the source of the creature's name), the teeth are large, sharp and prominent and the eyes are blood red.

Gore horses are solitary and very efficient predators. They will hunt down and kill virtually anything up to their own size, harrying it with their jaws, and finishing it off with vicious kicks. They have even been known to prey upon their own species. They move fast, and have lightning quick reactions - not many can tell of surviving a close encounter with one of these creatures. The call of the gore horse - a high pitched, shrieking whinny - is described by many experienced travelers and bushmen as the most terrifying sound of the wilds.

They usually inhabit the plains on the edge of the Desert, but are fast moving and can be encountered anywhere in the Settlements, or even the States.

It is said that the first defence against a gore horse is flight and the second is prayer. There is no third.
