Mister Greg
From Wild Southwest Wiki
Mister Greg is a common children's rhyme throughout the Southwest, often used for skipping games. While versions vary from place to place the below example is typical.
- I got a cart the other day,
- Some said it's a matter of time,
- Who cares what you say? Who cares what you eat?
- Who cares Mister Greg and stopsign?
- I got a juicer in my lung,
- But I'm OK, I'm fine,
- Put your home away for weeks,
- With Mister Greg and stopsign,
- Some time in the next two thousand years,
- I'm going to get what's mine,
- I thought I heard a semi saying,
- Mister Greg and stopsign,
The seemingly nonsensical lyrics cause some to claim the rhyme as a garbled version of a pre-war song or jingle.
