The Kangaroo Savings and Loan Company was a banking and investment company established in Albany in 2074. It declared bankruptcy in 2080, taking the savings of many small investors with it.

It is generally thought that the company collapsed due to the easily counterfeited nature of its scrip. Overissue of scrip and overlending were probably also factors.

The company is chiefly remembered in the phrase "Roo Money" - usually heard during bartering and used to describe anything laughably worthless.
