Young is a settlement in Denmark State, around 16 kilometres east of the capital Denmark Town. It lies on the border of Porongurup State and, although the town is officially part of Denmark, the townsite extends across the official border - a situation both states carefully ignore.

The status of the town was a sticking point when the border between Porongurup and Denmark States was formally drawn up in 2058. Negotiators from Porongurup felt that the border should run down the Hay River into the Wilson Inlet, placing Young within Porongurup. The Denmark contingent wanted the border diverted east to place Young in Denmark. The inhabitants of the town were equally split. In the end it was put to a vote, and the town narrowly chose to join Denmark state.

The town is sited on Lower Denmark Road, and has a population of 310. It has branch telegraph service and is the location of a DPF border post with a garrison of 20 and a toll station.
