The Mount Frankland Transmissions is the name given to a series of unusual radio signals received by a Frankland Border Patrol cadet on radio duty at the Mount Frankland Signal Station during the Great Solar Storm of 2079.

The signals - reported as very faint - were received in short bursts from 11:47pm to 3:00am on the night of June 2nd 2079 during the height of the geomagnetic storm. The shortest were no more than a few seconds in length, however there were several of around 30 seconds and the longest lasted for six and a half minutes.

The transmissions consisted of a male voice 'speaking in an incomprehensible language'. The cadet - preoccupied with attempts to relay FBP traffic through the storm - was unable to transcribe any examples, but recorded in the duty log at the end of his shift that the word 'porrawinih' was repeated several times.

It is generally agreed that the signals were perfectly ordinary transmissions from the Settlements or Warlord Realms distorted by the storm. This has not prevented them being offered by various pundits as evidence for the survival of other civilisations in locations as varied as Indonesia, China, New Zealand and even the Americas.
