Teams

The Original Teams

  • Albany Port Dockers (Red and Green) - The Dockers consist of workers from the Albany port. They are known for rough play, and have a long standing rivalry with the Eagles. They are the original Premiers, having won the first grand final in 2080.
  • Emu Point Turbines (Grey and Teal) - The Turbines are the company team of the Emu Point Power Station. They are infamous for performing well during the season but collapsing at the last hurdle, having appeared in six grand finals but only won one (2084).
  • Porongurup Rangers Eagles (Blue and Gold) - The Eagles are made up of off-duty personnel from the Forts, which can lead to selection problems when key players are stationed away from Albany or are at sea on the Resurgam. They have a long running rivalry with the Dockers.

New Teams in 2084

Three new teams joined the League in 2084.

  • Albany Mail Tigers (Black and Yellow) - The Tigers are the company team of the Albany Mail newspaper. They are the defending Premiers, having won the cup in 2093.
  • Frenchmans Bay Whalers (Black and Red) - The Whalers are the company team of the Frenchmans Bay Whaling Company. Their reputation for rough play is matched only by the Dockers, and Whaler/Docker matches are known as the most vicious in the League. They have only ever won one premiership (2088) but are tipped strongly for the 2094 season.
  • Middleton Magpies (Black and White) - The Magpies are a community team based in the Albany suburb of Middleton. They are the most successful team in the League having won the Premiership four times (2085, 2089, 2090, 2092).

New Teams in 2089

Two teams joined the league in 2089, both community teams from outside of Albany. Neither has yet made it into a grand final.

  • King River Bulldogs (Blue and Red) - A community team based in the town of King River. They are well known for their team mascot, a short faced mongrel dog called 'Brutus'.
  • Mount Barker Basilisks (Green and White) - The Basilisks are a community team based in Mount Barker. They (and their supporters) attend games by riding down on the Mount Barker Railway and the team takes its name from one of the company's engines. This has led to them being adopted by as the unofficial company team of the railway. Basilisk supporters are known for their loud wooo-wooo! cries - imitating a train whistle.

Future Teams

There is currently talk of adding two additional teams to the league in 2096. The most promising potential teams hail from Pagoda Point and Porongurup. It is thought that they will adopt the names "Swans" and "Sharks" respectively if accepted.
